Film press technology for precise surface sizing and coating applications.
The film press represents the advanced solution for surface sizing and coating applications, positioned after the pre-dryer section to apply starch and other sizing agents to partially dried paper. Parason's film press technology delivers precise, metered application ensuring consistent coat weight across the sheet width.
Unlike conventional pond-type size presses, the film press applies a pre-metered film of sizing solution to the paper surface through application rolls. This controlled application method eliminates the variability associated with pond systems.
The two-roll press design incorporates hydraulic or pneumatic loading systems for precise nip pressure control, while dynamically balanced rolls enable reliable operation at required production speeds.
